“Don’t worry

“Don’t worry; I’ll wrap it up for you“, said Monica when her brother, Peter, a successful engineer not any less handsome came for a visit. He knew she was very sociable and there were always some of her female friends in her house who came to admire her cooking, enjoy the food and find comfort. Her house was a kind of filling station and like a restaurant it always smelt of something roasted. She herself had asked for a divorce because she thought she deserved a better husband. Anyway, for her - finding the right partner wouldn’t prove that difficult. It wouldn’t really matter being middle-aged with two children, having a badly-paid part time job as an office clerk or obese with varicose veins. Her brother had been married for some years now and adored his wife. He did whatever she wanted. He even agreed to move house to a place far away from were his first workplace was, gave up his job and looked for a new one. She didn’t like his family very much for she kept laughing whenever she met his parents. Once she told me: you can’t take these people seriously. Peter went around like mad when she left him. There was no way to make her change her mind. He kept phoning his sister many times a day. When he finally gave in Monica arranged a meeting with Christine, one of her many colleagues. He came to her full of hope, went even with her the evening before to the office and sat in Christine’s chair. He said laughing: I just want to feel the warmth she left in advance. Peter was still hopeful and continued contacting his sister for some time. But he couldn’t wait longer so he went to an agency. Although he was in no way happy about the partner he found he accepted to get married. She was middle-aged with lots of beauty flaws. Monica hasn’t still given up hope but keeps saying: for me time is not ripe for a partner now.
