Russia is back again
Polar bears are cleverly famous for climbing between the cracks of ice and the edges of the Snow Mountains. The polar bears are also characterized by its strength as well as by insisting on staying in the ice water without being mired feet in the snow, in spite of their huge bodies.
It seems that Russia is exercising the same method in the international arena, as interference in its deep slumber and how to be away from the limelight for a while, and then wake up and take the role to -restore- the balance to the world and to return to the wise policies that seek Russia struggled for recovery in the New World.
In fact Russia is proving every day to be the only stubborn state against the United States, and it seems to me that Russia is returning to her natural position as an important international and regional arena, and as a major player in global crises that cannot be solved by U.S. without Russia’s cooperation.
But in reality the world situation is still unclear, as the tug of war still continues between the United States and Russia, especially during the crises in Syrian and Ukraine. Both crises are candidates for the aggravation of the crisis, in particular between Ukraine and Russia and the impact of Russia s announcement to ratify the agreement that would see both Crimea and the city of Sevastopol joining Russian federation.
If this happened it would be without a doubt a painful blow to the United States and its allies, and a great victory for Russian federation.
It seems that the Russian intervention in Ukraine carries different meaning from political, to security, and economic dimensions-;- perhaps political dimension is the most important of these, it appears that it is intended not only prolong the conflict in Syria , and the postponement of the Iranian nuclear file-;- but to show that Russia may be able to prove to the world her new -dir-ection and to return to the old status as a superpower, by introducing a series of diplomatic solutions to most of the trouble spots in the world. Russia is trying to fulfill this vision by pulling the rug from under the feet of the United States in many locations of the world especially when the United States continued to decline, militarily, politically, and economically, and for sure the failure of American role in Afghanistan , Pakistan, and Iraq , as well as the failure negotiations with North Korea and Iran is the major part of that.
No wonder with all these complexities the U.S. foreign policy shifted towards the project of Smart Power, which is based on a combination of soft power and hard power, after proved the failure to exercise each power separately.
