Calamities make Celebrities

Guy du Maupassant
If you look carefully you see the great figure in the history had suffered a lot, afflicted with calamities which made them celebrities.
Let me begin with Mansour Guy du Maupassant, he is he miserable number one. He himself wrote of himself ‘ I have coveted everything and taken pleasure in nothing.’ His father used to bit him and treat his mother cruelly . His father’s love affairs and illegal relations behind the back of his mother when he still a child made both mother and child Guy miserable and made them hate him. He noticed that since a child. The boy once has written to his mother, ‘the misters of the school has promised me to reward me , and it seems to me she rewards him for something I don’t know.’ In his later years he developed a constant desire for solitude, an obsession for self-preservation, and a fear of death and paranoia of persecution. Maupassant tried to commit suicide by cutting his throat, and was committed to the private asylum.

Pasonsry kwabata.
The other celebrity made by calamities of the time was the Japanese writer Pasonsry kwabata. He lost his parents when he was nine, later he lost his grandmother whom he liked so much. He lost also his brothers and his grandfather. He committed suicide after he received the noble prize for literature.

Gibran Khalil
The other celebrity is the Lebanon American Gibran Khalil. His sister died of tuberculosis(TB.) At the age of 14 his brother Peter died of the same disease, his mother died of cancer, he himself had developed TB too. As he wrote of himself in his celebrity book (The Prophet), ‘out of suffering, have emerged the strongest souls, the most massive characters are seared with scars.’ He was greatly influenced the worldwide known singers too. Elvis Presley was deeply affected by his (The Prophet). And one of his most notable lines of his poetry made song by the Beatles. It reads:
Half what I say is meaningless, but I say it so that the other half may reach you.’

Edgar Alan Poe
Edgar Alan Poe was too a celebrity in his time and the most miserable too. He was so poor that he used to in the public places. He slept in a cold corner of a street hugging a cat for warmth.
He was found in one of his difficult times on the streets of Baltimore delirious, "in great distress.’ Poe spent the last few years of his life in this small cottage. He died on a street homeless.
