Protest against those who threaten the Zoroastrians


It has been clearly shown that those in power have not created a proper life for their people. They have stifled anyone who opposes them. Their hostility to any opposition has increased. They are not providing basic services and care for their own people-;-´-or-allowing them any freedom. And they are actively opposing anyone who demands their basic human rights. In the past 25 years there have been certain issues in the region known as Kurdistan such as being poor, a lack of jobs, no water, no electricity and many other things that cause immense hardship and suffering that increases on a daily basis. Historically those in power have denied their citizens basic human rights, especially freedom. And now not only are their leaders against them, they are under threat from terrorists.


Members of the Zoroastrian religion have recently become more active in developing their community. And as a result they have come under increasing attacks by various Islamic groups. They are now inciting hatred against the Zoroastrians during sermons in the mosques and threatening Zoroastrians and telling their members to kill and attack them. And those in power in the Kurdish region have not attempted to stop this. They have actually being aligning themselves with the terrorists and encouraging them to threaten the Zoroastrians and take away their freedom, as long as it does not affect their own personal power. Those in power will only stand up to the terrorists when they are -dir-ectly threatened. Even the educated do not care as long as it does not adversely harm them. And when the Islamic groups make this an issue, they always side with them. They pretend to support freedom and only take action when they themselves are threatened.


We believe that Zoroastrians are being threatened simply because they are different. The Zoroastrians do not believe in killing others and opposing´-or-denying the validity of other religions. They have never resorted to violence and have never attacked other countries´-or-communities and do not allow their teenager to join armies. They do not forcibly -convert- anyone into their religion and they do not threaten´-or-harm those who -convert- to another religion. They do not force their children to pray´-or-use any threats of violence to make them pray and follow the tenants of their religion. They are not a danger to society and it is their basic human right to express freedom of belief. Any members who want to take up arms´-or-go against these principles is opposed.


Those responsible for the website “The Voice” are not Zoroastrians´-or-have any connection to the Zoroastrian religion. They are not friends´-or-aquaintances, but simply believe in freedom and therefore have always taken a stand and helped those who are oppressed, regardless of who they are and what they believe. And it is because of their support that we refuse to remain silent, especially concerning the attacks against the Zoroastrian community. As a result we are calling on those who believe in freedom to take action and not to stay silent on this issue. We wish to make it clear that what is happening in the region is a result of mixing religion and politics together. And whenever religion has more power over the government this leads to a further loss of freedom. They do not value life and the loss of freedom.


“The Voice” has also worked on separating religion from social, political, economic, and cultural values. They also strongly support the belief that no one should be forced through violence´-or-other means to adopt any religion. And they are not saying this to support one political party over another. Up to now “The Voice” have been fighting for the freedom of every individual to freely express their own beliefs. At the bottom of this article the names will appear in alphabetical order of those who support this petition and are against the threats that are currently being made towards the Zoroastrians.
