Mineral Deposits
A boy bound and broke the heart, quiet but more self-confident and more serious, in a house where the eldest was heir to the throne. He had to show he was more mature than his age and take the lead. Still, he was the most sensitive to the degree he wouldn’t eat meat if he saw bones. His bones were hard but now they were weakened and he blamed himself for not eating such minerals. He listened and sung love songs but his sensitivity grew with age and he blamed women for that.

His love for hound’s tooth check started the day his school gave poor children fabric of this pattern and when he was excluded on the grounds that his father belonged to middle class he was robbed. Singing in public would blush his cheeks and twitch his lips. His breathing would stop or grow faster and his legs paralyzed.

The journey went on but he lost touch for his body was numb. It didn’t make sense to touch himself for everything had now become as tough as old boots until he was finally turned to iron to support roofs from pillar to post. He didn’t mind for after all sharp eyes were made of iron. He then went further and steeled himself to stop the stealing but when all the steel and lead went down, his iron rusted and damped until it turned to dust.
