Statement from Human rights observatory in where is my rights Org regarding its ceneter raid in Baghdad
A military security force did raid the center of “ where is my right” NGO today’s after noon which is located in Baghdad, the secretary general of the NGO Ahmed Muhmmed Ahmed along with others were arrested during the raid.
lawyer Diaha al-Saadi, the head of human rights observatory in the Org said” the arrest included Adnan al-Shirafi, Muhmmed Hamed, Emad fazah, Adnan Abid Ali, others and a female, their eyes were blindfolded and they were tied up and taken to unknown destination, also the files and a computer of the NGO were confiscated.
al-Saadi clarified that where is my right NGO is one of the NGO that got licensed by the official authority and it works in the frame of law to demand the rights of the Iraq human being, therefore, the arrest of its workers without a warrant considered a clear violation to the constitutional bases and conflicts the democratic principles and the effort of building a state of law, constitutional institutions, NGO’s protection and human rights.
al-Saadi has urged the law, legal, humanitarian Iraqi, regional and international NGOs to declare solidarity, to stand next to the detainees and demand their immediate release under the consideration of the freedom of peaceful civic work in the frame as a granted right and those who practice it must not expose to suppression, persecution and to the qualitative arrest away from law.
