CDC as of July 17, 2020 publishes updates on the isolation period and how it ends for Covid patients 19 of which are:
Analysis is needed only in rare cases, such as severe weakened immunity. Extended isolation period from 10 to 20 days in severe cases´-or-severe immune deficiency. Most patients can terminate the isolation 10 days after the onset of symptoms, provided that the heat ends for at least 24 hours (without medication) with the rest of the symptoms improving. Patients without symptoms could terminate isolation 10 days after the date of the first positive smear.

With the exception of rare cases, a test-based strategy is no longer recommended for determining when to quit isolation-based precautions.
For patients with severe´-or-critical illnesses´-or-with severe immune deficiency, the recommended duration of precautions is extended to 20 days after symptoms appear (or, for patients with severe immunodeficiency symptoms, 20 days after their positive diagnosis SARS -CoV-2 Initial Test).
Other symptoms-based criteria were modified as follows: changed from "at least 72 hours" to "at least 24 hours" since the last fever without the use of fever-reducing drugs.
The change was from "respiratory symptom improvement" to "symptom improvement" to address the expanded list of symptoms associated with COVID-19.
