A letter to President Macron
Dear President Macron,
I am writing for three reasons , first to extend my condolences on the brutal killing of the history teacher Samuel Paty , second to show my support for your tough stand against Islamic terrorism , and third to thank you for France new active role in the whole Mediterranean.
As for Samuel , myself is a history teacher so I understand how much he was simple and how life for him was just a book and a fight for freedom of opinion. Samuel will rest in peace and remain memorable , while his Chechnian killer will be damned and forgotten as all killers . He was given food and shelter by Samuel and he gave death in return. That is enough to let him be damned forever.
As for Islamic terrorism that victimized all of us on both banks of the Mediterranean , I do not exaggerate in saying that we have been waiting for this moment of your brave resistance , when we can have a leader in our desperate fight to push that evil out of our life. This position is not only my position as an Egyptian writer, but I believe it is the position of a wider class of Middle Eastern and south Mediterranean educated persons , who are ready to sincerely serve in your enlightenment battle.
As for France new active role in the Mediterranean, it really gives hope to our solidarity in the Mediterranean, missing the European guidance and values has been our main problem in the Middle East and South Mediterranean, so we highly appreciate your active role in Greece, Libya , Syria and Lebanon, against the aggressive intervention of the dictatorial Russia and its allies, Iran and Turkey. Dictatorship and Islamic terrorism is two sides of the same coin.
Do not reconcile Mr. President , secularism and democracy are making history.
