John 3:22-36
John Testifies Again About Jesus
22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized. 24 (This was before John was put in prison.) 25 An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”
27 To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30 He must become greater-;- I must become less.”[a]
31 The one who comes from above is above all-;- the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. 33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God[b] gives the Spirit without-limit-. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”
Then John the Prophet, the forerunner of the coming of Christ Jesus, baptized through the water in a bygone age therefore He looked for places “ plenty of water” as part of “ceremonial washing” to herald the Holy Coming of Christ Jesus since the water is the sign of cleansing so as the forerunner of the Religion, John the Prophet is not focalizing on the tradition itself but in the meaning of the sign it means that He prevailed the significance of the baptism namely the purification of the hearts to be able to see God: Christ Jesus.
Accordingly the source of purification is the meaning of the utilisation of the object: the water and not the object itself thus John the Prophet can never testify about the employment of the objects which is the area of sects but about the spiritual meaning of the “ceremonial washing” and for herein He distinguished between the tradition observed by the sectarian doctrines and the religion focalizing on the wise Teaching to further develop the Knowledge of Christ Jesus.
Therefore notwithstanding the persecution and imprisonment, John the Prophet is still teaching His disciples the Coming of Christ Jesus from the Heavenly Kingdom through saying the truth of His status as the last Prophet “sent ahead of Him” to herald the Coming of the Son of God and for herein the final seal of Deity has been put on His Teachings.
So John the last Prophet’ meaningful approach had been impelled by a deep ancient knowledge of Christ Jesus in a Heavenly area and not by an impulse of a personal need of worship sought by a troubled spirits since the tormented spirits are looking for any object to worship as an imagined refuge permitting to them to run away from their obsessive anxieties and since an inert objects can never be even a refuge these harried spirits are flogged by the gloomy spiritual decay which is pushing them to kneel in front of crippled objects emptied of all meaning.
As a result the research of the meaning through the purification of the spirits to be a holy dwellings of the Holy Spirit coming from the Heavenly Kingdom is the purpose of the Religion of which John the Prophet is the forerunner, therefore He taught His disciples with His Legitimate Status of the Last Prophet sent ahead of Christ Jesus to herald the joy of the purified soul allowed to the New Rebirth with Christ Jesus and it’s a so great joy that it compared to the liveliness of the “bridegroom” .
Furthermore the New Rebirth is thoroughly explained by Christ Jesus in His Teaching of “the member of the Jewish ruling council” Nicodemus when He taught him that the Holy Spirit invigorates the soul regardless the age since the baptism refers to the Rebirth through the Holy Spirit not to the water of the conception: the Amniotic fluid which surrounds the foetus “following conception with the amniotic sac” given that this water accompanies the earthly birth about which speaks Nicodemus when he asked Christ Jesus saying: “ Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!”
So Christ Jesus according to His Heavenly Nature, He is testifying about the Rebirth through the Holy Spirit: the Baptism through Christ Jesus:
“5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit.”
Thus the Spiritual Rebirth is consisting in an act deeper than the Amniotic fluid which penetrate the human body since the Holy Spirit is coming from the Heaven to incarnate the Word in the beginning so it has a prior existence in relation to the existence of the human body and this previous existence of the predestined souls to be saved by God the Father is the Holy source of the Creation of the Human and of all things “ 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made-;- without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.”
Hence the baptism through the Holy Spirit: Christ Jesus is the synonym of the solemn -union- of the Spirit of God with the spirits of His Children through Christ Jesus hence the image of the -union- of husband and wife borrowed by John the Prophet, which perfectly illustrates the sacred -union- with God in the pre-existence of His Children’s souls with Him in the Heavenly Kingdom.
