Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was not illiterate of reading and writing. Rather he was a teacher who informed and reached the people to the message of the source of guidance and knowledge the Noble Qur’an.

The Prophet taught those who followed him to reading, writing, and inferencing (the science of logic).

Allah say:

"If you entrust some of the People of the Book, with a Qintar, they will return it to you, while if you entrust others among them with a Denar, they will not give it back to you unless you keep insisting on its return. For they say, "We are not bound to keep our words with (al-ommeen) the people of the nations" and they themselves knowingly ascribe false statements to God." 75:3 Sorat al Imran

The nation of "People of the Book" among the Jews and Christians has sent to them a book in which there is a special law for each of them, that includes the main commandments of all the laws, including render trusts to whom they are due, that is Allah command for the all of the nations and among the People of the Book are believers who preserve the trust and return it to its people, even if you entrust them to a "Qinttar" Hundred pound of gold, they return it to its owner, they are the people of trust, honesty and loyalty to the covenant.

And there are others from the People of the Book that if you entrust them with a "Denar" coin of gold, they do not return the trust to its people - unless the people of the trust are based on it, and demand it and you find them eating the trust and saying their false claim (we have no way among the people of the nations) meaning we do not have a way in the gentiles and nations other than us, and we will not be punished from God, they say that to make it permissible to eat the wealth of the people of the nations who are non-People of the Book among the Jews and Christians, they relate this lie to God and God did not allow them to eat people’s money unjustly.

Al-Ommeen "The people of the nations" are not ignorant illiterate people as mentioned in tradional heritage interpretation, "the people who do not read´-or-write". This is a false claim and an unjust distortion of the meaning of the context of the book..

Al-Ommeen don t mean illiterate ignorants.

Al-Omma mean The Nation, and al-ommeen means The Nations)

The nations (al-ommeen) are the nations other than the People of the Book from among the Jews and Christians from the Children of Israel.

Al-ommeen are the nations whom the last book sent down from heaven was sent to them, the Qur’an, and their messenger is the messenger of the nations who was sent with a law to all nations other than the People of the Book, and the "Ommi" Prophet the prophet of the nations, peace be upon him, is not an illiterate. He neither reads nor writes, he was a teacher in the Arabic tongue, reading and writing, and teaching his companions the Qur’an, reciting it to them and teaching them the Book, and whoever taught the Book to teach them how to write with the pen, read to them, teach them to read, teach them wisdom the commandments and the logic, and teach them what they did not know.

Allah say:

" All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, the Mighty, the Wise.(1)He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the -script-ure and "al-hikma" the logic and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest,(2):62 Sorat al-jom a

The word “wisdom” may come in the context of the Qur’anic text, and it means the commands and prohibitions, and God’s judgment, as in the following verses

Allah say:

"And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one´-or-both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (23) And lower unto them the wing of submission through mercy, and say: My Lord! Have mercy on them both as they did care for me when I was young kid (24) Your Lord is Best Aware of what is in your minds. If ye are righteous, then He was ever Forgiving unto those who turn (unto Him). (25) And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and founding kids, and do not spend wastefully. (26) Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful. (27) And if you turn away from them to seek mercy from your Lord, which you hope for, speak to them a kind word. (28) And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck´-or-extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent. (29) Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and He provideth in a just measure. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing. (30) And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin. (31) Do not even approach adultery It is abomination and an evil act. (32) And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed-limit-s in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law]. (33) And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the way that is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned. (34) Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination. (35) And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned. (36) And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height. (37) All this-- the evil of it-- is hateful in the sight of your Lord. (38) This is of what your Lord has revealed to you of "al-hikma" the commandments and do not associate any other god with Allah lest you should be thrown into hell, blamed, cast away. (39) : 17 Sorat al-isra a

(That is what your Lord has revealed to you of wisdom "al-hikma") That is what your Lord has revealed to you of rulings, commands and prohibitions.

Wisdom (al-hikma) may be mean the science of inference and how to know the meaning of words in the context of verses, and what is called the science of logic.

Allah say:

"Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and (al-hikma) wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error" 164: 3 Sorat al-imran

Allah say:

" All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, the Mighty, the Wise.(1) He it is Who hath sent among (al-ommeen) the nations ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the -script-ure and (al-hikma) wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest,(2):62 Sorat al-jom a

The two previous verses have a logical signification, which is that among the nations (al-ommeen) are believers who are the ones from God upon whom He sent a Messenger from among them.

1- God has blessed the believers when He sent a messenger from among themselves.

2- He is the messenger who sent among the people of nations.

Then some from people of the nations are believers in the messenger.

How was God s bounty on believers of the people of the nations ?

That He sent a Messenger from among them to teach them the Book, and actually the knowledge of the Book is reading, recitation of verses, writing, and calligraphy by pen on papers and sheets to understand and learn the pronounce and the meanings of other words.

Al-omeen are not ignorant illiterate people, but they are the nations who the law of the wise Qur’an was sent to them, and among of them are people of knowledge in reading, recitation, writing, calligraphy, arithmetic, astronomy, history, logic understanding and inference.

Other example:

Allah say:

"And when there came to them a Book from Allah confirming that which was with them - although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved - but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it-;- so the curse of Allah will be upon the disbelievers." 89:2 Sorat al-baqaraal-baqara

Allah say:

"And when there came to them a messenger from Allah, confirming which was with them, a party of who were given the Book threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know" 101: 2 Sorat al-baqara

In the previous two verand :

1-(And when there came to them a Book from Allah confirming that which was with them).

2-(And when there came to them a messenger from Allah, confirming which was with them).

The first verse indicates a book from Allah confirming a book with them.
The second verse indicates a messenger from Allah confirming a book with them.

In the context of the verses.

It becomes clear to us that a messenger from Allah in that verses is a book from Allah, and that the word messenger may come in the Qur’an is meaning of the book from Allah, the Noble Qur’an.
