Tones
Dr.Abeer Naise
Translated by Mohammad A Yousef(2021)
***
I look for something that unites our tones
Perhaps the sun resides in the eyes
I Look for what gives a stone the lips of children
I might climb the history of rainbows,
I go up every morning
I get rid of the weight of alienation
Not from my country
Not from sands
in the port of speech

You travel and you are the most beautiful without my knowledge,
You return as the pulse of an artery
In the head, the eye, and the structure
I never saw you
But I charge the wind
I never saw your name in a book
But I see the statue

Yet every morning I wait you
I wait you in all the seashells of the night on the seas
I wait you in the white lining of the wave
I wait you.

They said:
He probably grew up in the orbit of lightning
He may dwell the light and the grass
He may storm and clear up
He might rain and snow
I said to them all : Never worry
Watches are my language
And country is daylight
Yet, I am waiting for you
The size of the mirage will not separate me from anymore
