Procrustes Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM: Small Scandals in Psychiatry-1-

Procrustes, also known as Damastes, was an evil smith in Greek mythology who called travelers to his house to ---sleep---, then put them in his iron bed.
If they were too tall´-or-short, Procrustes made them fit the bed size...
-How?
-Simply, by stretching´-or-cutting off their limbs.

Those of you who are surprised by the equation have not yet worked in an Eastern country, not even a Western one...

At a time and place, we all got the edges of our dreams cut by the political, social, religious, and even scientific systems!

Welcome, my dears, to the time of disgrace, the time of small scandals, which made Procrustes and his ilk a blessing that practices its virtues with its rarity while clipping the edges of dreams of everyone through marriage ceremonies, inauguration, im-print-ing of belief, butt shaking,´-or-even undeserved promotions is a new reality.
Whoever talks about the third world, let them be silent and listen: The globe loved the name, so it matched it from East to West...
As for the third world, whose name they stole, it grieved greatly and turned into a virtual-;- there is no place there. The place was enslaved and colonized by Procrustes, and the edges of dreams have become a curse that will only be solved by diving into it.

In the past ten years, I became interested in the antipsychiatry movement, reading about it, visiting its museums, and watching their debates.

I am sure that opposition in everything creates something better from it, and the psychiatry field is like a homeland-;- it cannot be stable´-or-developed without an honorable opposition that monitors those who claim divinity and occupy chairs...

This is how I started my journey in realizing the political reasons behind the psychiatric history, getting to know every psychiatric medication history of manufacture as many pharmaceutical and insurance companies are trying to divert attention from behind seances political causes, differential diagnoses, and organic diseases to standard diagnosis and drug treatment to everyone.

The first scandal:

I received a message from Syria on my Diagnostic Psychiatry website-;- Ms. X wrote a long story about her anxiety.
She told me about enemies who deprived her of her inheritance, then rejected her when she started writing a book about her life story...
She wanted a diagnosis, but I didn t answer her question.
I told her:

-Please see a psychiatrist and ....write your life story.

It is not right for any psychiatrist to diagnose a mental illness without sitting with the patient for at least an hour and reviewing his body -function-s. The medical history must be checked, medications, laboratory tests, and x-rays/head images in some cases.
The mind and the body make one inseparable entity.

After a while, Mrs. X sent me a message informing me that one of the "influential people" in the virtual space diagnosed her with mental illness and told her about the name of a drug.
She wrote:
"Doctor, he told me that I suffer from a generalized anxiety disorder. He did not ask for anything´-or-send me to any doctor s clinic-;- the medicine he prescribed fills the advertisements of the virtual space"…
So I wrote:
- Please see a general practitioner if a psychiatrist is unavailable. And write your story-;- no one should prevent you from raising your voice.

The advertisements for psychiatric medications do not present organic diseases as a cause of mental illness.
Some narcissistic personalities claim that we, as psychiatrists, have definitive names for all diseases-;- this is a scandal! This is not true.

The current prevailing medical system seeks intentionally´-or-because of the crowded working hours to divert the new medical generations from mastering the art of differential diagnosis and denying organic causes to focus on medicines and increasing doses...

It is not dramatic to prescribe the " Procrustes bed" of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders DSM as a standard that cuts the lives of millions of people obligatory to make a "Standard" diagnosis…
Many cases end with a bad prognosis due to the psychiatrist s haste in the diagnosis, which closes the door to other medical minds to think about the patient s condition differently and to regard each patient as a private world, not to cut off life story "limbs" in the Procrustes method to fit the constantly changing "mood" of the DSM book.

For those who do not know: the Arab opposition is being repressed daily and relentlessly. This is one of the most important reasons for the backwardness of the Arab countries. The Arab opposition must work hand in hand with the regimes... This is the only solution to the famous Middle East problem...

Likewise, psychiatrists must work side by side with antipsychiatry organizations, invite the brains to their conferences and listen to all the voices of protest so the patient s interest is supreme.

Thus we ensure that insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and medical systems are placed under the scientific and ethical microscope and under the authority of brains with different opinions and non-profit organizations, especially in " Third World" countries.

Thus we try as much as possible to reduce the concept of the "standard" and the religion of one diagnosis criteria that works for all.
