Happiness - A Timeless Secret

You function best as a human being when you are happy. When you are in a happy mood, psychologists have found that your thought patterns change dramatically. You think pleasant thoughts. You feel your role in life is more meaningful. You feel much more satisfied and you find your life more fulfilling. You worry less and you don t fuss about what you don t have - you focus more on the enjoyment of what you do have. When you are happy, your uplifted mood helps you to view life as mostly good and mainly perfect. You know you have things to work on, but you also know you ll get to them eventually in the process of life itself.

Happy moods and happy thoughts will help you to:
• Perform much better in your job
• Use your mentality more easily
• Achieve your goals better
• Use time more efficiently
If you find yourself in an unhappy mood, you can use these tools to help you return to happiness, which is your norm:
• Stay living in the present and forget the past.
• Be responsible for everything in your life
• Think only happy thoughts
• Look for ways to change things for the better
• Revel in being who you are
• Foster stronger ties in your relationships
• Listen to happy music
• Dance as if you re all alone in an auditorium
• Spend time alone at a spiritual retreat
• Exercise your body
• Eat foods that please you and are good for you: chocolate, milk, chicken, bananas, and leafy green vegetables
• Be of service to others.
Aristotle said "Happiness depends upon ourselves." It s you who decide whether or not you are happy in life. I choose to be happy. What about you?

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go. ~ Oscar Wilde

Happiness and Your Health

It s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and lose sight of what makes you happy. Really happy. But making sure your happiness meter is giving optimal readings can provide many important health benefits.
Happy people have younger hearts, younger arteries, and a younger body. Happy people recover more quickly from surgery, cope better with pain, have lower blood pressure, and have longer life expectancy than unhappy people

Studies suggest that happy people may have stronger immune systems-they re less likely to get colds and flu viruses. And when they do, their symptoms tend to be mild.
Not surprisingly, happy people are better at looking after their health, too. When people s happiness levels improve, so do their health behaviors. They exercise more, wear sunscreen, and go for regular checkups
