أُكْتُبِي ريتايَ
عَنْ فُرْسَانٍ فَقَدُوا
الهُويَّة،
عَنْ أمّةٍ عَرَبِيّة،
في فَمِ الدَّيْنَاصُورْ
وَقَعَتْ ضَحِيَّة.


أكتُبي ريتايَ
عَنْ سَادَةْ
فَقَدُوا الرِّيَادَة.

أكتبي
عَنْ خُيولٍ
بلا صَهِيلْ
أكتبي عَنْ
مَنْكُوبينَ مُثْقَلِينَ
بِالعَوْيلْ.

أكتبي
عَنْ زَمَنٍ
صَارَ فيهِ الوُلاةْ
هُمْ
أشَدَّ وأعْتَى
الطُّغاةْ.


أكتُبي ريتايَ
عَنْ دوّامةِ العَصْرِْ.
أكتبي
عن وحوشٍ استَسَاغُوا
الغَدرْ.

أكتُبي
عن زَمَنٍ مالَ فيه
ميزانُ العَدْلِ
مَالَ
وَاسْتَحَالَ
تَقْويمُهُ اسْتَحَالَ.

أكتُبي ريتايَ
أكتبي
بلغةٍ عربيّةٍ
فصيحة،
أكتبي تاريخَ
الفضيحة.

أكتُبي
يا أَنايَ
عن شَعْبٍ أبِيٍّ
يَكَادُ يَخْتَنِقُ
في أقْفَاصِ
العَزْلْ.
أكتبي النَّكْبَةَ
فَصْلًا
تِلْوَ فَصْلْ.

أُكْتُبي ريتايَ
ولا تَخَافي الرِّيحْ.
قَدْ آنَ أوَانُ
شعبُِ المَسِيحْ
مِنَ الصَّلْبِ المريرِ
دَهْرًا...
أنْ يَسْتَريحْ.

Without neighing.
Write down
About those afflicted and burdened
Who keep wailing.

Write down,
About a time
In which the rulers
Became the
Strongest and toughest
Tyrants.

Write down, oh Rita,
About the whirlpool of the age.
Write down
about monsters who found treachery palatable.

Write down
about a time when the scales of justice tilted and it became impossible to straighten it out.

Write down, oh Rita!
Write down
in eloquent Arabic,
write the history of the scandal.

Write, oh my self,
about a proud people who were almost suffocating
in the cages of isolation.

Write down the catastrophe
chapter
after chapter.

Write down, oh Rita!
and do not fear the wind.
It is time for the people of Christ to rest from the bitter ancient crucifixion.
